PDMS Module
Overview
The PDMS Module integrates with Cadcentre's PDMS Piping Design
System. This enables the Core Router Module to be accessed directly
from the PDMS environment.
Use 3D models created in the PDMS modeler. The Core
Router will automatically analyze the objects and create pipe
routes within the environment. This enables smooth integration of
the software into your work process no matter what system is used
for modeling and design.
Automatically interfaces with the Core
Router Module to create the most cost effective, least-stressed
route within the given 3D model, which is both interference-free
and supportable. In-line components are handled easily and can be
positioned either manually or automatically. Routing selection criteria
determines piping priority to ensure the cost of material is minimized.
Plant arrangement, rack design and accurate MTO's can be
fixed earlier, providing a significant schedule reduction over the
entire phase of a project.
Can handle variable amounts of data, for example, nozzle
locations. It is not necessary to provide nozzle locations as the
Core Router
will be able to read the 3D provide rule-based nozzle placement
and optimal orientation based on arrangement. But as information
is added over the course of the design, nozzle locations can be fed
into the system for more accurate routings.
The design progresses seamlessly through basic design, updating
equipment and line data, as it becomes available. The program will
automatically resequence and re-route piping. Finally, at the conclusion
of basic design, the completed routes are fed to PDMS to kick-start
your detail design phase.
Features
- Routes are Optimized Calculates shortest path
possible, reducing number of elbows and ensuring supportability.
Also configures routes to avoid long straight segments which eliminates
thermal expansion problems.
- Rule-based Nozzles Associated with Each Equipment Type
The program will automatically adjust these points according
to equipment orientation and position. The sequences in which
the lines will route depend on the pipe material, size, and branch
connections. Valves may be placed automatically by the program
or specified by the user.
- Routes are Free of Interference Utilizes a database
that stores routing space and allows pipes to 'see' each other.
- Engineering Considerations Incorporates the latest
industry standards to perform many engineering calculations for
each line to determine the optimal path. These calculations include
pipe stress check, supportability considerations, sloped piping,
and expansion loops.
- Creation of Quick Output Can quickly create an
accurate MTO report from the routed generated.
- Tower hugging This facility forces lines to use
towers as support. Pump lines may be routed in a symmetrical or
asymmetrical arrangement. Tees are automatically sequenced according
to the location of the branch lines connected.
- Advanced Features Can provide design features
depending on the needs of the project, including access/maintenance
considerations, vertical pipe chases, and valve locations.
- Product is Flexible The software can accommodate
many different types of information and can offer customizations
as well. New features are added constantly to address the needs
of industry professionals.
- Two Different Modes Depending on which stage of
the project and how much information is available, two different
modes of operation can be used. One of the modes allows routes
to be produced even without nozzles points defined.
- Utilize Existing PDMS Information Can interface
with the PDMS database system and automatically feed information
to the Core Router for very accurate routes and output.
- Bottom Line Can consolidate input, make more information
available earlier, reduce man-hours for design, compress design
schedule, create seamless information flow into detailed design.
